The March Chapter MeetingFeaturing: Jeff Huffman: President of the Texas Credit Union Association

More about our speaker:

Jeff Huffman joined the Texas Credit Union League in 1982 as a credit union consultant. Since 1984, Huffman has been the primary legislative contact and lobbyist for the trade association, during which time he has successfully worked on a variety of state issues, including the Texas Credit Union Department Sunset legislation in both 1997 and 2009; creation of the Texas Finance Code amending the constitution to allow home equity lending and home equity lines of credit; the rewrite of the Texas Banking Code and the Texas Credit Code authorizing the Texas Credit Union Department to be a self-directed, semi-independent agency; numerous amendments to the Texas Credit Union Act; appropriations issues; and protecting state-chartered credit unions’ tax status.
As president of TCUA, Huffman continues to be responsible for lobbying, developing legislative strategy and political involvement programs, and presenting the credit union message to the Texas Legislature and the Texas Congressional delegation in Washington, D.C.
Huffman graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA in Finance. He also graduated in the first class from the ACULE Certified League Executive program at the University of Wisconsin.
