It is that time of year again. Please join the Houston Chapter of Credit Unions in helping us to bring holiday joy this year to children in need by participating in the KHOU Secret Santa Toy Drive. We will be collecting new, unwrapped toys from November 27th   – December 18th which will be donated to the Salvation Army. If you need boxes for your lobby to collect toys, you can email Valarie Brittain (vbrittain@cyfairfcu.org) to make arrangements.

Enterprise will be picking up the toys on December 18th at participating locations. For anyone who would like to bring their donations to the station, we will be delivering the toys to KHOU on December 19th. Details for the delivery will be available closer to the date. KHOU will take pictures and if available, will have a camera crew to film the drop-off to air in their newscast.

Enterprise is also offering credit unions a promotion for their members that buy a car from enterprise and bring a toy. Please contact Devon Ader (devon.r.ader@enterprisecarsales.com) with enterprise if you are interested. He will be happy to get you all the information.

The Salvation Army will gladly accept monetary donations as well. Please make your check payable to the Salvation Army and send it Valarie Brittain at the address below by December 18th.

Here is some information about the KHOU Toy Drive.

– Each year, KHOU 11 rings in the holidays with a toy drive benefiting The Salvation Army, which kicks off on Thanksgiving Day.

– Since it began in 2001, KHOU’s toy drive has grown to become one of Houston’s largest toy drives, generating more than 18,000 gifts for area families in 2010.

– Donations collected at KHOU 11 and its partner locations will be distributed through the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.  For over 120 years, The Salvation Army has provided Christmas assistance for disadvantaged children and seniors in our community.
