Houston Chapter Events Approved for Matching Funds

Houston, Texas, March 16, 2015 – The Houston Chapter of Credit Unions 9th Annual Bowling Tournament and the 2015 Houston Chapter of Credit Unions Golf Classic has been accepted into the CO-OP Financial Services Miracle Match program for 2015.

CO-OP Miracle Match is a $1 million matching program for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. CO-OP will match the funds raised at this year’s Bowling and Golf Tournaments, with the funds going directly to Texas Children’s Hospital.

Year after year, the Chapter’s sporting events have proven to be successful in both, gathering credit unions and business partners together to participate in friendly competition as well as raise funds for Texas Children’s Hospital. Each year, local credit unions and business partners are invited to participate by entering teams to compete in the tournaments. Team registration fees go toward covering the cost of the venue, trophies and the rest is designated for the charity. Various local credit unions and business partners also gather to sponsor the event by becoming a Hero Sponsor, a program developed by the Houston Chapter.

Gifts given through the Children’s Miracle Network go to support the hospital’s charity care program. This program allows any child to receive treatment regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

The Bowling Tournament will be held at Copperfield Bowl on Saturday, March 28th from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The Golf Classic will be held at the Tour 18 Golf Course on Monday, March 11th.
