Houston Chapter EVENT Approved for
Matching Funds
HOUSTON, Texas – The Houston Chapter of Credit Unions 9th Annual
Volleyball Tournament has been accepted into the CO-OP Financial
Services Miracle Match program for 2010.
CO-OP Miracle Match is a $1 million matching program for Children’s
Miracle Network hospitals. CO-OP will match the funds raised at this
year’s Volleyball Tournament, with the funds going directly to Texas
Children’s Hospital.
Year after year, the Volleyball Tournament has proven to be
successful in both, gathering credit unions together to participate
in friendly competition as well as raise funds for Texas Children’s
Hospital. Each year, local credit unions are invited to participate
by entering one or two teams to compete in the tournament. Fees
acquired by each credit union (which is determined by asset size) go
toward covering the cost of the venue, trophies and the rest is
designated for the charity. Various local business partners
also gather to sponsor the event by becoming a Hero Sponsor, a
program developed by the Houston Chapter.
Gifts given through the Children’s Miracle Network go to support the
hospital’s charity care program. This program allows any child to
receive treatment regardless of a family’s ability to pay.
The
Volleyball Tournament will be held at Willowbrook Sports Complex on
Saturday, August 14th from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. |
